Hitting The Shallows For Tahoe Trout!

I’ve been having ascendancy lately downrigging the five-inch bad and white AC Raw-boned on Tahoe. This is a brilliant volume and design, because it’s insignificant enough for average fish to put numbers in the runabout, but big enough to look well-disposed to the big guys as well. The color exemplar could look like a kokanee, big Lahontan redside minnow, chub, whitefish, you name it.

This summer it performed well off the downrigger at 1.8 to 2.2 MPH, bouncing the bottom at 150 feet for mackinaw. I put it down side by side with one of my ‘go-to’ lures for downrigger plugging (Outpouring close up) when out with clients and on fun trips with my Achates Kombiz F. who runs “Tahoe Fisherman” charters, and the AC Lanky performed as well as, and at times greater than the Assail.
